Santa Number Three

This is the third Santa I created entirely from paper mache, except for a small amount of paper clay on his face. I finished him in January of this year. He is still one of my favorites. I really love his beard, and I like the way his hood and cloak turned out.

When I was painting him, I couldn't decide what color I wanted to use for his hood and cloak, so I used a different color on the hood, and coordinated it with the color of his robe. He holds a wreath trimmed with red berries in one hand.

A few more photos above, to show the draping of his cloak. This Santa was so much fun to make, I may make another one dressed and posed similar. Maybe.

Well, my efforts at organizing my craft storage room aren't going along very fast. In fact, I haven't even started organizing. I thought it would be a good idea to finish up the four or five projects I had laid aside first. If I don't, they may never get finished!

Well, I hope you're all having a great Sunday! Hope to hear from you.

Hi Maggie,

I REALLY love this Santa. He is very traditional and I like his hood, for a change from the familiar hat, and the two colors. He has so much expression in his eyes.

The craft room - didn't someone once say that a messy studio is the sign of a genius? (o: If you saw my craft room right now you won't stop running till you got to Maddy's at the North Pole. Honest.

LOL, you only say that because you haven't seen mine! Just ask Maddy.

Okay - you can't walk a straight line in my room. (o: Honest. And you have to step over stuff that is laying in the middle of the floor.

Can you top that?

You have to stand in the door way and look in. That's as far as I've ever made it. Good thing it's just the storage room. The work room isn't as bad. I love this Santa Maggie. I remember him well and he's one of my favorites too. Have a great Sunday.

Hugs

He's got such a gentle face ~ makes you want to crawl up on his lap and share your secrets. All Sanats should have such a face. . . nicely done!

Well after a second REAL good look...maybe little trick or treaters would be better off hitting the trail after knocking on Hester's door.
