My third shelf-sitter is a Humpty Dumpty type character. I've taken to referring to him as "The Egg Man" because every time I worked on him I got the Beatles song "I Am the Walrus" stuck in my head. You know the line where they sing, "I am the eggman, they are the eggmen, I am the walrus... goo goo ga-joob..."
The Egg Man is made from paper mache with a plastic Easter egg as an armature for the upper body. His arms and legs are stuffed fabric. The arms are button jointed, and the legs are a little different. I glued wooden beads into the tops to make knees, and threaded wire through the holes in the beads and into the body. His little feet can swing back and forth.
His collar, hat band and bow tie are paper that has been coated with several layers of acrylic sealer. He wanted to wear black and orange, so I obliged him. His eyes are really shiny, and I couldn't get a really good pic. But just believe me, he's much cuter in person.
He is seen below with my other two shelf-sitters:
See, I told you he wouldn't be anything like the other two. He actually is my favorite of the three!

Hi Maggy,
They are all amazing. My favorite though is "The Percussionist". I am so drawn to her coloring and features.
Have a wonderful weekend.
I adore The Egg Man. He's so darn cute and the way he is put together is really inventive. I'm refering to the button jointed arms and the wooden beads for knees. I think his choice in colors for his wardrobe is spot on. I just love the bow tie. He's one handsome egg and has such a sweet and gentle face. I think I'm going to make an egg shelf sitter because after seeing this guy I know what I want to do with those plastic eggs I bought. Great job Maggie.
Love you,
Maddy
I love them all, but I have to admit, he is my favorite too ;o) Have a great day!
Oh my goodness...these are amazing...I love them all.
Wow your egg man is awesome. You do such amazing work it blows me away! And now--I am hearing I am the Walrus playing in my head. I always (and I am a total Beatle fan) thought it said I am the ape man. Thanks for letting me know so when I sing it I sing it right Lol :-)

I love every one of them and could not honesty choose any individual one as a favorite! These dolls are simply exquisite. Your work is so amazing.
